By celebrating what's right in this world we can deal with what is wrong & then shift from being the best in the world to being the best FOR the world."
These inspiring words of Dewitt Jones were one of the inspirations for this website.
Dewitt Jones is one of America's top professional photographers with a career stretching over twenty years. As a motion picture director, he had two films nominated for Academy Awards before he was thirty. Twenty years as a freelance photographer for National Geographic earned him a reputation as a world class photojournalist, but now Dewitt is also appreciated as an outstanding international motivational speaker.
It was through seeing his inspiring film "Celebrating what's right with the world" that Dewitt Jones first came to our attention - and we found the way he used nature to show the abundance available to all if we only believe it, very uplifting. He explains that "Perception controls our reality" & so it our choice whether we see the possibilities all around us or do we choose to see limitation.
As an example he relates being disappointed at missing a field of dandelions in full bloom but by changing his attitude and asking "What's right here" & being open to new or different possibilities he saw a field of puffballs & took one of his most famous shots.
There are many great quotes in the film - for example that the "Change curve" so many people fear is also a "Possibility curve" - plus Michelangelo's awesome "I saw an angel in the stone & carved to set it free." and how there is a subtle edge between success and significance in this World
He has now written nine books, the latest of which The Nature Of Leadership is in collaboration with Stephen R. Covey of The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People fame.
We can highly recommend a visit to his website www.dewittjones.com where there is a wealth of material including DVD's, books, posters & photographic images plus some excellent articles including "Seeing the Ordinary as Extraordinary" - techniques for unlocking your creative potential.
