Paper Battery wins 2007 Technology Pioneer Award

Article submitted by Karl-Erik Lassenius from Pargas, Finland

Finnish Company ENFUCELL has developed an amazing new "softbattery" that will revolutionise the way we use and especially dispose of our batteries "as they don't have to be re-cycled but can be disposed of in the household waste" states Enfucell's Chief Executive Jaako Happonen.  Not only are the batteries extremely environmemtally friendly but are much cheaper than conventional button batteries.

These thin flexible SoftBatteries™ will be a power source for applications like cosmetic patches, smart cards, RFID tags, music playing greeting cards, transdermal drug delivery patches and LEDs on paper. Future applications include electronic paper, displays and mobile sensors. For more information visit www.enfucell.com
